Under the leadership of Professor Seidler Rodrigo, who has successfully grown Gracie Barra Salt Lake City and Gracie Barra West Jordan, along with Professor Andrea Warner, our Riverton location delivers the official Gracie Barra curriculum, ensuring structured learning, proven techniques, and a supportive community for every student.

The very first 50 students to join Gracie Barra Riverton earned the title of Red Shield Founders, securing a place in our history from day one. Many of them share how honored they feel to be part of the story of their favorite Jiu-Jitsu school, helping shape the community, traditions, and spirit that make training Jiu-Jitsu here so special.

What’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu All About?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or simply BJJ, is the best martial art for self-defense. It can suits every kind of people as it’s all about using leverage, timing, and smart technique to control someone, no matter their size, without relying on strength alone.

People call it “The Gentle Art” because the goal isn’t to hurt your training partner, but to outsmart them using holds, pins, and submissions. We train in a safe, respectful way so everyone can learn and improve together.

The cool part? BJJ is like a real-life game of chess, but you’re moving your whole body instead of pieces on a board. It keeps your mind sharp, your body active, and your problem-solving skills on point.
